Student Collections or Portfolios
Google Drive we know as a great place to store things and have students turn in work so why not use it as a place to collect resources too? One teacher create a resources folder and share with the other teachers and start throwing things in there. Keep it organized by making folders within the folder for different topics. Collect websites on a spreadsheet.
Livebinders is a digital notebook with tabs separating topics/sections. It is sharable with your peers and easy to access from laptops or iPads. It is best to do the building on a laptop, however. Flipboard is useful in collecting digital content in personally created OR shared "magazines." The entire blog or article is clipped into the Flipboard but you are always able to go back to the original. (see images to the right) Pocket is a similar app to Flipboard without the magazine feel to it. It is a bit more simplified in its organization. Check it out to see if it is a good fit for your students. Pearltrees is a very visual tool. Add websites as a resource to any topic or sub-topic quickly with the pearler tool. Collaboration is easy and files are able to be connected as well. (see images to the right) Pinterest allows you to collect websites onto "boards" of the specific topic it fits into. Boards can be followed and shared with peers to keep the collaborative juices flowing. Might be good to pair up with the use of Google Drive for file storage. |
